Yes, it is true. UNDERDOG Sports has opened a second location in Central Illinois on November 15th, just in time for the Holiday Season! The original UNDERDOG Sports is at 2581 S. MacArthur, Springfield, IL and the second store opened across from Northwoods Mall at 4650 N. Brandywine Drive, Peoria, IL.
Owner, Paul Layton, says the region has been incredibly supportive with customers traveling as far as 2 hours to buy affordable, new & used sporting gear as well as fanfare for their favorite pro and college teams. UNDERDOG Sports carries Softball, Baseball, Golf, Soccer, Disc Golf, Hockey, Football, Volleyball and more. They buy gear too. Their favorite suppliers are you and your neighbors! This recycling model reduces waste and helps to clean out garages, sheds, and basements.
COVID-19 hit the business hard, but as youth sports came back over the past year, the added business allowed UNDERDOG to hire a store manager, Brandon Rice, who adds a wealth of customer service experience. He agrees that serving the families and individuals of Central Illinois brings not only success, but also feels good. The entire UNDERDOG crew will serve to keep the “mom and pop” atmosphere that so many customers have written reviews about.
The owners are also committed to working at each location and will support kids’ charities such as Boys and Girls Club in both cities. UNDERDOG Sports is on a mission to create a sports movement that includes kindness, community involvement, and giving back.
